I am half Catalan. It’s a place I know well but not as well as I would like. In 2007 I started to travel around the region more with my sketchbook looking at and working from the landscape. Montserrat, considered to be the spiritual heart of Catalonia had always been a place I wanted to depict in my work. The beautiful Costa Brava was a coastline I was already familiar with. Barcelona had always struck me as a city waiting to be depicted. I had never had the chance. I have been there countless times but never had a concentrated period of time to work from it. There are countless possibilities. This page shows some of the results from my travels so far. My aim is that one day all this energy and effort will focus in a complete body of work ready to be shown in Barcelona.
